Alphabet Keys

A to Z keys are used to type letters, words and sentences.



Numeric Keys

0 to 9 keys  are used to type numbers. e.g.- Roll No., Date, Class, Telephone No., Date of Birth etc.



Function Keys

F1 to F12 keys perform different functions in different applications


Special keys

These keys have different symbols like.


Shift keys

This key is used to type top symbols of the key. It is also used to type single capital letter. A keyboard has two shift keys.



Spacebar keys

This is the longest key on the keyboard. It is used

to give space between the text.



Caps Lock Key

This key is used to type letters in capital. e.g. A,

B,...........Z

 



Enter Key

This key is used to bring the cursor to the next line on the monitor. It is also known as the return key.



Arrow Keys

There are four arrow keys that help to move cursor left, right, up and down on the screen.



Backspace Key

This key is used to erase a letter typed on the left side of the cursor.



Delete Key

This key is used to erase a letter on the right side of the cursor.

1)  In electronic typewriter, it is possible to make changes in the content, make multiple copies with minor changes.

 

2) Title bar is located on the top of Writer window. It shows the title of the currently opened document. The name of the document means the file name of the document saved on the disk.

 

3) Formatting toolbar contains the various options for formatting a document. A graphical representation of commands is shown in the form of icons.

 

4) Status bar is positioned at the left bottom of the Writer window and displays the number of pages, words, the language used, zooming, etc. It is located at the bottom of the workspace.
