1. What do you mean by Virus?

Ans: A computer virus is a program which infects the computer and disturbs its normal working. Computer viruses can attach  themselves to other programs, files or data stored in the system automatically without any desire or information.

 

2. Write the names of different types of viruses.

Ans: There are different types of viruses based on their working behavior. Computer viruses can be categorized as:

Boot Sector Virus, Network Virus, Stealth Viruses, Worms, Trojans or Trojan Horses, Logic Bombs , Resident Viruses etc.

3. Write any four symptoms of virus infected computer.

Ans: Virus is very harmful for computer. Once a virus enters in your computer, your computer system may be damaged. Following are some symptoms of a computer that tell us about virus attack :

·       New files or folder keep appearing on the system.

·       The computer runs slower than normal.

·       Unusual error messages are displayed.

·       The CD drive or hard drive runs when not in used.

·       Computer programs take longer time to boot/ load than normal.

·        Program size changes its own.

 

4. What is the use of antivirus programs?

Ans: Antivirus software is utility software which is used to identify and remove computer virus. These are memory resident programs that get activated when system is started.
