1. Fact Function

Ans: The Microsoft Excel FACT function returns the factorial of a number.

The FACT function is a built-in function in Excel that is categorized as a Math/Trig

Function. It can be used as a worksheet function (WS) in Excel.

2. Count function

Ans: Use the COUNT function to get the number of entries in a number field that is in a range or array of numbers. For example, you can enter the following formula to count the numbers in the range A1:A20: =COUNT(A1:A20). In this example, if five of the cells in the range contain numbers, the result is 5

1. Define Ms Excel functions.

Ans: A function is a predefined formula that performs calculations using specific values in a particular order. Excel includes many common functions that can be used to quickly find the sum, average, count, maximum value, and minimum value for a range of cells.

2. Explain these Functions with suitable examples:-

1. Fact()

Ans: The Excel FACT function returns the factorial of a given number. For example, =FACT(3) returns 6, equivalent to 3 x 2 x 1. number - The number to get the factorial of.

2. Char ()

Ans: The Excel CHAR function returns a character when given a valid character code. CHAR can be used to specify characters that are hard to enter in a formula. For exampleCHAR(10) returns a line break on Windows, and CHAR(13) returns a line break on the Mac

 

3. Date/ Time

Ans: To enter a date in Excel, use the "/" or "-" characters. To enter a time, use the ":" (colon). You can also enter a date and a time in one cell. Date

1. What is the use of watermark?

Ans: Water mark option is used to set the ghosted text behind the content of every page. watermark is a picture or text that appears behind a document's contents.

 

2. Write the steps to set the border of a document.

Ans: To apply border follow these steps..

1. Select Page layout tab and choose border from page background group.

2. Choose any style of your choice to set border. You also choose colour and width

of your border

 3. Then Click on ok. your screen will appear like this

 

3. Write the steps to change the number of columns.

Ans: Steps to use two or more columns in your document..

1. Select Page Layout Tab and select columns options. A drop down box will appear

2. Choose more columns if you want more than three columns in a document. A box

will appear .

3. Choose any number of option in NUMBER OF COLUMNS. For example if we choose two columns the screen will appear .

 

4. Write the steps to choose the landscape orientation of a document.

Ans: Choose landscape by using following steps.

1. Click on Page Layout Tab and choose Orientation option.

2. Two options shows on your screen as shown in figure. Choose landscape option.

Ans : Memory is one of the main components of the computer, as it stores all the data

for processing and future use.

There are two type of memory :

2. What is internal memory?

Ans:  The main memory / primary memory which place inside the computer is called internal memory.

(This is the computer's main memory which is fixed inside the CPU on motherboard and it is the fastest of all other data storage. 

This memory temporarily stores data while programs are running. CPU can directly read and write on this memory. Primary Memory is the place and process to store and to record information.)

 

3. Differentiate between RAM and ROM. Mention any two points.

Ans: Hard disk is an inbuilt storage medium. It is the main storage medium for computer. It is fixed inside the CPU box. 

(It has large capacity on which we can store large amount of data.  All the programs and data of computer are stored in it.

Hard disks is made up of multiple disks also called, hard platters of metal. The hard disks can store up to 2 TB to 5 TB of data.)

 

5. Write three features of Flash Drive.

Ans: 1) It is flash memory data storage devices integrated with a USB interface.

2) It is also called USB drives, thumb drives or pen drives.

3) They are typically small, lightweight, removable, rewritable and easy to carry.

4) It operates fastly and is capable of holding more data than CD and floppy are more reliable.
