Ans- CPU is the only
processing device of a computer. It is also known as the “Brain of Computer”. It controls all the
functions of a computer system. It also controls function of the devices which
are attached to the CPU. The CPU consists of three main units :
Memory
Unit (MU) : This unit stores the data temporarily or permanently in it for
processing.
Arithmetic
& Logic Unit( ALU) : As the name indicates , ALU performs all the
arithmetical
(+,-,/,x) and logical( +, < , >) operations.
Control
Unit (CU) : The control unit controls all the operations of a computer
according
to the given instructions.
